FORD Thomas Private 7409 2nd Bn West Riding Regiment Died of Wounds 23/10/1914 Aged 39. Born 1875 Leeds. Son of James and Mary A  Husband of Elvina Parnell Married St Johns Newtown Leeds December 1900. CWGC  7 Darby Street Green Road Newtown (Now Burmantofts). 1911 No 9 Moorehouse Avenue Occupation Boot Finisher. Enlisted Leeds. Thomas was an old contemptable being part of the British Expeditionary Force that landed Le Harve France 14/08/1914. Thomas fought at the Battle of the Marne, the Battle of the Aisne, the Battle for La Bassee and the first Battle of Ypres where he was possibly fataly wounded. MAP OF BATTLES. Remembered Le Touret Memorial France. OTHER:  Distinguished Conduct Medal.
