BOOTH Thomas Rifleman 266806 1/7th Bn West Yorkshire Regiment KIA 09/10/1917 Aged 20. Born Leeds 1897.Son of Thomas and Florence Harriett. 1911 Residence 18 Overdale Terrace Halton Occupation Joiner. Thomas remains were found in 1920 he was identified by his personal Disc. Laid to Rest Passchendaele New British Cemetery Belgium.

BOWERS Jack Private 13106 10th Bn West Yorkshire Regiment KIA 01/07/1916 Aged 18. Son of William 1911 Joiner Assistant in Halton. Born 1898 Halton. Enlisted Leeds. Landed France 13/07/1917. Remembered Thiepval Memorial France. Mispelled Should Be Bowers.

BOYINGTON Fred Private 7797 1st Bn West Yorkshire Regiment KIA 20/09/1914 Aged 27. Born Harrogate. Son of John and Emma. 1911 was in India with the 1st Bn West Yorkshire Regiment. Losing his life at the Battle of the Aisne, Freds body was not recovered. YEP 19/10/1914; Fate of Two Brothers: Word has been recieved in the village of Halton of the death of Private F Boyington 1st West Yorkshires. Married last January aged 28 he was a reservist and before the war worked for the Aire and Calder Navigation company. Disquieting noise has also been received about his brothe rG. Boyington missing since the 22/09/1914 The Boyingtons are a Leeds family the father lives at Compton crescent Harehills." Photo of brothers to be added.

BUTLER Albert Victor Private 11th Bn Royal Scots Lothian Regiment DOW 22/10/1917 AGED 19. Born Whitkirk. Son of Arthur and Annie CWGC 10 Primrose Road Halton. Enlisted 24/05/1916 Leeds 11298 Royal Scots Regiment Occupation Warehouseman. Landed France 08/06/1917. A copy of the telegraph sent to Albert's Mum Annie is in his records and states "Much Regret to inform you that officer commanding 61st Casualty Station France reports your son 270275 AV Butler Died of Wounds 22/10/1917 serving in the Royal Scots." Personal effects including photos, letters, and a metal cigarette case were sent back to Albert's mum. On the 23/04/19120 Family details were sent to the Ministry Of Defence verified by the priest of St Wilfreds Church John C ??

Son of Henry Thomas and Charlotte. 1911 10 Primrose Road Occupation Domestic Chauffeur living with his mother and father and his sister Annie and Son in Law Albert Victor remembered above. Husband of Edith Morley Married  St Marys Whitkirk 07/03/1905. Edith passed away in February 1921 being laid to rest in Whitkirk church on the 18/02/1921. Laid to Rest Namps-Au-Val British Cemetery Somme France.

HAIGH Stanley Gunner 173957 B Battery 250th Brigade Royal Field Artillery DOW 24/08/1918 Aged 20. Born 1898 Saddleworth. Son of Hugh Henry (Police Sergeant) and Lily 1911 Residence Cross Gates Police Station.
